Aber für andere sind die Zeiten schon schwierig. Dr. Thomas Müller hat im letzten Rundbrief über die Situation am Ärmelkanal berichtet.
Doch mittlerweile ist der Winter da und deshalb ist diese Mail dringend – so dringend, dass wir nicht bis zum nächsten Rundbrief warten möchten.
Shanice und das Refugee Women’s Ventre in Calais (s.u.) möchten Zelte kaufen, die den Flüchtlingen vor Ort als notdürftiger Schutz dienen sollen.
Ein Zelt kostet 10 €. So toll kann es nicht sein. Aber es kann vor dem Erfrieren retten.
Deshalb möchten wir die Aktion unterstützen.

Happy new year! I hope it has been a good start of the year for you.
This is Shanice from the Refugee Women’s Centre in Calais. Thank you for your continued support in 2024. As we are planning the year ahead, we wanted to check if there is any possibility for you to support us with this year’s bulk purchase of tents.
We are currently looking to purchase €4291 worth of tents (420 tents in total) to help us cover the first half of the year. Last year we distributed more than 1000 tents to women and families living in the informal camps in Calais and Dunkirk and as temperatures are very low at the moment, we are using our current stock as a faster rate as people seeking safety are still arriving in Northern France.
Would there be a possibility to help with a donation towards this amount? If yes, please do let us know how much you would be able to support with and I can send over the bank details. We can also issue acknowledgement of the transfers as well as show proof of us purchasing the items once we are able to pay the full amount to the supplier. We can also help by posting on social media if you’re running a fundraiser to collect donations and we can support by sharing posts or stories.
